Is there a way to insert the current date?

Howdy all!

I tried searching for this but couldn't find anything, so sorry if this has been addressed before.

Throughout the day I have to make A LOT of new folders with the current date as the name (ie: august 23 2018) is there a way to set up a hotkey with HIDmacros to just insert the current date as text?

I would expect one (or all) of the scripting languages supported in HidMacros has a function to get current date. Then you can format it and send as key presses. See http://hidmacros.eu/scripting.php

Not gonna lie, Im not very familiar with scripts so i have no idea what im doing there. Any advice would be really appreciated.

anyone? just spent a few hours trying to google my way to a solution, tried a bunch of different scripts i thought would work and no luck.
