Can't open panel when using "Send Sim Connect Event"

I have recently had to replace my hardrive and when it came to HID, I downloaded the latest version. After a few attempts I finally got it working.
First thing I notice is that now I need to click on “SimConnect” on top every time I start FSX. The previous version I had (can’t remember which) I did not have to do this. It would automatically connect.
Second, this time I tried to use the “send SimConnect event” section to change my com frequency. But when I try to bring up my radio stack panel with the shift 2 key, it does not appear and my cursor blinks nonstop. The commands work fine since I can see the frequency change, but it is not highlighted like when I use the Keystroke sequence. After exiting FSX, and going back to “send keyboard sequence” everything is fine again. Is there something in the programing that conflicts with opening up the 2D panels?

You can download previous versions from Download page if you want.
To your problems:
- I'll have a look at automatic connection to FSX. I haven't tested for a long time since I prefer Xpl now

- com/panel question: here I would need more details. SO you have SimConnect command for frequency change or also for panel opening? Command works fine? And opening a panel using standard shortcut (Shift + 2) doesn't? Did you try with/without HIDmacros running? And where is the cursor you're mentioning?

Let me try to clarify.
In HID macro, I have set under “send Simconnect event (FSX)” the commands “COM_RADIO_FRACT_INC” plus the 3 others for whole increase, decrease, and fraction decrease. I do not have a shortcut to open my radio stack
With this configuration in HID, when I hit the “Shift 2” to open my 2D radio stack panel, the panel does not open, and the mouse pointer on the screen starts blinking at a rate of 2 to 3 blinks per second and does not stop. The shortcut works to change the com frequency, since I can see the frequency change in my virtual cockpit view. But one thing I notice is that the frequency is not highlighted like is is when you use the key sequence to change the frequency.
So I get out for FSX, change HID macro to “send keystroke sequence”, then when I go back to FSX and reconnect HID, I have no problem. I can open my 2D radio stack and change my frequencies.
An example of my keystroke sequence: for Com1 Whole increase I use “nc= “ the reason for the “n” at the beginning is that if I just put “c=”, when I press the shortcut key consecutively, it switches from whole to decimal, as if pressing the “c” key continuously. So by putting “n” in front, then it’s like cancelling the “c” command and starting back. Similarly, for my Nav change, I put “c” in front.
One more note. I am flying in the Baron 58, which has Com1 and Com2. I am assuming that “COM” without the “1” means COM1, since, in the command list, I just see “COM” and COM2”.

Thanks for explanation, I'll try to have a look.

It looks like the problem no longer exists.
A few days ago, I went on the FSX forum for a couple of other problems. The solution ended up unchecking the “Preview DirectX 10”. This solved my other problems. Today I decided to go back and check to see if it would also resolve the problem with HID. Now my HID functions just fine using the “send Simconnect Event”.
The funny thing is, even if I check the DirectX 10 box again, my other problem returns, but HID still works.
So, for now, I consider the problem resolved, but I am just not sure why?
I am wondering if it is because I have been running with DirectX 10 checked since my Re-install of FSX?
